Belarus visa support
We offer for kind consideration the following information. The details given
below are for general guidance and intended to answer some of the questions
which are often asked about procedures relating to an application for an entry
visa for the Republic of Belarus.
It would be very much appreciated if this information is studied prior to sending
the application to the Embassy.
The application for entry visa may be made in person or sent by post/courier,
although they will not be accepted by fax.
An applicant should fill in a visa application form which is available free
of charge from any Belarusian Embassy and post or hand it in with:
-
valid passport;
-
one recent passport-sized photograph;
-
formal invitation* from individual or body of corporate, or, alternatively,
letter of support;
- the appropriate visa fee ( details are given below ) payable only in the
local currency to the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus by cheque or cash.
*A formal form of invitation can be obtained by an inviting individual in
Belarus from a relevant local Belarusian Visa and Registration Office in accordance
with the established procedure. A business invitation from a body of corporate
in Belarus ( governmental body, company, organisation, etc. ) should include
the following information: official name of the inviting party, exact purpose
of the visit, the proposed dates and length of stay, details of funding ( accommodation,
air fare, etc. ) and be on the company’s letter-head.
The applications are approved on the documentary evidence alone or decided
after a short interview. The above list should not be considered as exhaustive.
Any other documents or details which may be helpful should also be presented
by the applicant to the consular officer. It is important for the consular officer
to be in possession of all the relevant information before he/she reaches a
final decision. The applicant should remember that it is the applicant’s intentions
which are paramount and that although the consular officer will weight all the
evidence in the balance, his assessment of the applicant’s intention will carry
the most weight.
Entry visa is issued:
Business visa - on the basis of official invitation (the original, not
a fax copy) from the inviting Belarusian institution.
Private visa - on the basis of a private invitation.
Tourist visa - based on a visa support letter + a national voucher from
a registered Belarusian tourist company.
Visa Arrangements at the Airport upon Arrival
Should the Belarusian Consular Office in your country be situated far from
where you live, or if there is no diplomatic representation of the Republic
of Belarus in your country, entry visas to Belarus can be arranged at the airport
upon landing. The only gateway to Belarus where entry visas can be issued is
the international airport "MINSK-2".
The visa is to be issued within 5-10 working days but the whole procedure may
be expedited if the applicant has been able to prepare the required documentation
properly in advance. Otherwise, if the application is ill-prepared the applicant
may be asked to produce whatever documentation the consular officer requires.
It is important that the applicant does not think the application has been rejected
at this stage.
To secure return delivery of the passports all the applicants are kindly requested
to enclose a prepaid and self-addressed envelope to be posted by Recorded Mail.
If there is any need of a next day delivery the relevant envelopes of Special
Delivery should be provided.
